Improve Negative Attitudes Towards Mentally Disabled Children
3A Tim Lee
In Hong Kong, there are many disabled people, over 75000. However, people always discriminate and are used to being a bit scared of mentally disabled people because people think mentally disabled people are unusual, so people are scared and afraid to talk to them. If you want to help them, you can contact them.
In this article, I am going to suggest some solutions. Firstly, there should be more interactions between mentally disabled children and the public. This can strengthen contact between special people and the ordinary. They can bring students and the mentally disabled together. Students can take a good care of these special people. And they can teach students to tolerate and understand them.
Secondly, we should hold other activities to teach other people not to discriminate them. For example, exhibitions or talks can change the negative attitudes towards the mentally disabled.
In conclusion, people are scared and afraid of the mentally disabled. If we can take care them more, we can have a better world.
